When should you book your Make-Up Artist and/or Hair Stylist?
We recommend 8-12 months out from your wedding day; 8-10 months for a normal size group under 10 total services, and for over 11 services, 10-12 months.
Do you hold my date when I book a preview?
Yes, we put a temporary hold on your date when your preview is scheduled wihtin 30 days .
Can I book the trial closer to my wedding?
You can! Our recommendation is to secure your date with a contract, and then wait until 3-4 months before the big day to have a trial, or the same season if you'd like to do it in advance.
How many weddings has the company done? Do you normally work with brides?
Majority of our work is with brides, and we know providing beautiful hair and/or make-up is just the beginning. We understand and adhere to a unpredictable lighting, complicated set-ups, tight schedules, and all the wonderful wedding chaos. We remain calm and relaxed, offer our wedding day tips, and are super supportive during all the excitement and nerves.
Do you offer airbrush make-up application? What is the difference?
Airbrush is an innovative technology offering for sweat-proof, long-wear, fresh, flawless skin. We do offer Airbrush make-up application to all clients, but will recommend traditional or airbrush depending on the condition, texture, and type of the skin. Airbrush is defined as "high in coverage, but thin in texture... a sheer, even, highly opaque or full coverage application generating perfect-looking skin with minimum of product. Other advantages include speed of application, longevity, and durability, the true advantage of airbrush makeup is the beautiful finished result it produces..." (Information courtesy of OCC).
What products/brands do you use?
We use an array of make-up products including MAC, Temptu Pro, MAKEUPFOREVER, Smashbox, NARS, TARTE, Graftobian, Urban Decay, Clinique, Neutrogena Skincare, OCC, Sephora, NYX, and more. We tend to use Clinique on more sensitive skin, but may use other brands as well. Hair products include Paul Mitchell, BEDHEAD, TIGI, Ojon, It's a 10, Chi, Babybliss, Hot Tools, Redken, etc.
How do I keep my makeup fresh for the whole day?
We tailor products to fit your skins needs and our professional grade products will stay fresh looking for many hours. We will recommend products for touch-up as needed.
What happens during/after the preview?
Previews are HIGHLY recommended, but not required. We schedule previews Tuesday-Friday 10am-8pm, during peak wedding season April-October especially, but do have some weekend flexibility November - March. During a preview, the bride will consult different looks and ideas with the artist to decide on the best option with option to tweak final look. Details of the wedding services desired and time frame are discussed as well. The date is officially marked and secured once the signed contract and deposit have been paid. The artist that does your preview will be the one who completes you services on the wedding day, unless mutually agreed upon.
What situations and services warrant an assistant?
An assistant is usually sent with the head artist when services for hair and makeup exceeds 8-10 hair and/or makeup services per artist. If an additional artist is desired to reduce time, an fee is applied to the contract.
Can you duplicate a look from pictures in a magazine ?
We are generally comfortable working from a picture, but keep in mind the person in the picture should be similar bone structure, hair cut and color, and skin tone as yourself. Additionally, show us the picture as inspiration and let us work our magic to customize for you. Again, the key to figuring out the perfect look is an open and honest communication during the trial.
What about my wedding party?
We are able to accommodate a party of any size. For large parties, we will need to bring an additional artists. The total number of bridal party members getting service needs to be solidified at time of the initial contract processing for the most effective and guaranteed service execution. If additional bridal party members wish to be added after the contract is signed, we will need to be notified as soon as possible. Within our power, we will be able to do the services but cannot guarantee additional services after the initial contract. If they wish to get their make-up or hair done on the day of the wedding and are not on the contract, they will be added on a time permitted basis. We will help create a general time line for your wedding day prepping.
What if my wedding is 30 days or less away?
Full payment will be collected at time of the contract signing.
What payment forms do you take?
We accept cash, checks, and Credit Cards. We do not carry change for cash payments. Checks will be accepted, if they are void or bounced a 10% charge will be charged back to client. Credit card must be on file for any wedding cliental. Credit cards are subject to credit card fee on contracts.
What if my event/wedding is on a holiday or holiday weekend?
Services are subjected to a $100 charge.
Do you travel? What are the travel fees?
Travel outside of our studio is $.75/mile and parking fees will be charged if the venue requires valet/deck parking.
Is it appropriate or required to tip?
Even though we are an on-site team, you may find it easier to think of us as a boutique salon. Tips are welcomed and greatly appreciated.
Do you offer lash extensions?
No, We offer single day-wear individual and strip lashes, which are not considered "Lash Extensions". We do have a great referral for a Lash Extension Expert in the area.
